MIT Researchers Introduce a Battery-Free, Underwater Sensor

Energy harvesting is something that many engineers have heard of but MIT has taken this concept to a whole new level with an underwater sensor that has no battery.

    Battery free sensors are a new type of sensor that can be used for any number of things, from monitoring your baby's activity to making sure your fridge is cold enough. These sensors work by harvesting energy from the environment through heat or light and then use it to transmit data. This means that there are no batteries required!
